Business Idea: RoboSnopes

Help Google solve on of their biggest problems...

The Background

I'm sure you're all sick of hearing about AI. Everyone is talking about it and how it might change the internet.

Regardless of your beliefs, there is one fundamental truth. AI is really good at sounding authoritative. Even when it isn't.

If you ask it to generate an article about something that it doesn't know, it'll just make up really convincing BS.

But this is a problem, because pretty soon lots of internet articles will be made by AI. Which means that it'll be impossible to trust a random site.

The Idea

The idea is to create a company that provides a quick API for informational trust.

Basically, you can put in either text or a link and it will parse it and tell you how sure it is that the information is accurate.

To be clear -- this would be technically challenging. You'd have to use clever indexing of facts with some sort of heuristics.

But, assuming you can figure something out that works, the reward is huge.

The end goal as I see it would be to be acquired by Google. They're probably panicking over there. They're about to be flooded with billions or trillions of articles, and no way to tell what is true.

Obviously they are incentivized to provide true info, but it's not a problem they've had to solve. There has been no reason previously for people to write articles that aren't true (for the vast majority of cases, anyway).

So, if you can solve this even a little bit the odds that they'll acquire you just for the tech are huge. And if they won't, you can still sell this as a really amazing B2B product.
